SOMALIA | Hibaq Ahmed

Salam alaykum,

My name is Hibaq Ahmed and I am your Miss Elite Somalia 2022. It’s an honour to represent the beauty and culture of the ‘Horn of Africa’, my beautiful land Somalia.

Growing up I’ve always felt connected to my roots and being away from my homeland only makes me more prouder to be representing it here in this contest.

Somalia is recognised for having the longest coast of any African nation which boarders on the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean. There are various clans in Somalia & we all share a uniform language, religion, and traditions which all traces back to our ancestors. More importantly, we share a language of love and empowerment.

So this is why I’m excited to empower my young Somali girls and teach them to take the present opportunities to them and make the most of life. Working as English teacher and my career in hairdressing and modelling has enabled to do the only thing that means the most – help others feel enlightened and empowered. I hope to continue doing this and it is with all the love I receive from my supporters that I’ve reached this stage.

In the future, I aim to open a school in Somalia that teaches English and history as well as be a successful model.

Winning Miss Elite 2022 would be an immense opportunity for me to share the beauty and brains of Somalia. It will also give me the chance to broadcast what I am truly passionate about which is to give back to society by educating and enriching others.
